In November of 1969 Clearview celebrated the Grand opening of the shopping center with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. The dedication heralded the opening of two retail giants in the center - Masion Blanche and Sears Roebuck & Co. Crowds gathered in excitement for the opening of these retail giants, which would come to be the most popular retail destinations for years to come.
During the summer of 2018, ownership acquired the Sears portion of the property allowing the Clearview Management Team full control of the entire 35-acre property for the first time in the center’s history.
In 2019, Clearview celebrated their 50th anniversary with a ceremony and press conference that highlight the center's past, present, & future. While memories of the past were celebrated, the focus remained on the next 50 years as the center announced their transformation into Clearview City Center.
OCHSNER SUPER CLINIC
Ochsner Health facility will serve as an anchor for the $100 million Clearview City Center redevelopment. The super clinic will create 200 new direct jobs, with an average annual salary of $70,000, plus benefits, and result in an estimated 209 new indirect jobs, for a total of more than 400 new jobs in Louisiana’s Southeast Region.

The new Ochsner facility will be known as a super clinic due to the breadth of health care services provided. Women’s services, men’s health and behavioral health will be joined by a sinus center; sports medicine and physical therapy; digestive health and gastroenterology; neurology and brain health; pain management; cardiology; and ophthalmology and vision services. The facility will also feature a 10-bed micro-hospital to accommodate overnight stays.
THE METRO AT CLEARVIEW
The five-story, $55 million complex dubbed “The Metro at Clearview” will have 270 units that average 925 square feet in space. The community also will feature two courtyards, a resort-style pool and cabanas, a yoga lawn, lounge area, grilling stations, sitting area and a Zen garden. Other amenities include a 2,000-square-foot clubroom with multiple seating and entertainment areas, a catering kitchen, a fully furnished fitness center and a sky lounge on the fifth floor that will overlook Clearview City Center.
